Spirits were high at Nuriootpa High School last Wednesday as the Vine Inn presented donations to recipients from the highly successful Annual Charity Golf Day, held on October 16th at the Barossa Valley Golf Club.
A cherished tradition on the Vine Inn’s social calendar, the Charity Golf Day has been running for over 15 years, providing much-needed support to local youth programs. Last year, the event raised more than $12,000, benefiting the Nuriootpa High School Social Justice Fund and Youth Barossa. This year, the event saw even greater success, raising a total of $13,062.
The event was expertly organized by Vine Inn General Manager Gabrielle Marschall, with invaluable assistance from Board Member Chris Linden, who previously managed the event for over a decade during his tenure as CEO of the Vine Inn.
The day of the tournament featured perfect golfing conditions—calm, cloudy skies that eventually gave way to warm, sunny weather—creating an ideal atmosphere for both competitive play and community camaraderie.
In addition to the friendly competition, golfers were treated to a delicious breakfast and lunch, prepared by Vine Inn staff. Local businesses also contributed by donating prizes and raffle items, giving participants the chance to win something special while supporting a great cause.
The winning team of the day included Sandro Giannitto, Andrew Warland, Michael Weaver, and J. Janson, whose teamwork secured them top honours on the course.
Proceeds from the event—raised through player fees, raffles, and a putting competition—will benefit the Nuriootpa High School Social Justice Fund, the Young Life Summer Camp, and Youth Barossa. These funds will go a long way in supporting youth programs that make a positive impact in the local community.
The Vine Inn extends its heartfelt thanks to all entrants, volunteers, and sponsors, and looks forward to next year’s event, ready to tee off once again to support the community.
