VINE INN BAROSSA WINS AT THE 2015 AUSTRALIAN HOTELS ASSOCIATION SA AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
The Vine Inn Barossa has won for the second consecutive year at the 2015 Hotel Industry Awards for Excellence during the Gala Dinner held on Tuesday 28th July at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
It was cheers all round last week when the Vine Inn Barossa took out the award for the Best Community Service and Support Hotel at the AHA South Australia awards, where the best of the State’s hotel industry were recognised for excellence.
The Vine Inn Barossa was awarded for the same excellence category in 2012 and 2014 and now 2015 which demonstrates a consistency in the way the business is run and how well it fits in the community.
Chris Linden, General Manager of the Vine Inn Barossa received the award on the night said, “It was great to be recognised by our peers and to be the best in the industry”.
“Criteria for this award includes not only how we run the business, but also how we help people, our community and our active participation with and in community groups. It’s not always looked at from a financial point of view but more about what we offer in the way of continued community support”.
Not only is The Vine Inn Barossa a major sponsor of many sporting and community/service groups in the region, but Board Members are actively involved in the community also.
Chris Linden, General Manager of the Vine Inn Barossa is also Chair of the Nuriootpa Futures Association, Vice President of the Barossa Valley Golf Club; a Board Member of Disciplinary Committee, Centennial Park; an organiser of the Liquor Industry Charity Golf Club and represents the Vine Inn Barossa at numerous industry events.
Board Member, Kathy Schilling is the driving force when it comes to the Tour Down Under and other community events including the Barossa Vintage Festival, Groovy Grape activities, and is currently recording the history of Nuriootpa and the Vine Inn Barossa through its 150 year history.
Lyndon Stoll is coordinating the very first Geocaching Tour for the region and is also on the board of the Nuriootpa Futures Association. While Peter Gerhardy is involved with Milo Football, he umpires and is also involved with local cricket. Graham Wellman cares for the local kids with their breakfast club, and is involved with the netball and golf club.
The Vine Inn Barossa also strongly supports the Social Justice Fund with students from the Nuriootpa High School.
“It’s been a good but solid year with sponsoring and investment in our new bottle shop and constant development of the facility. We continue to support the local economy and have spent almost $2 million over the past three to four years, including $1.7 locally,” Chris said.
In September the Vine Inn Barossa will be competing against the other States at the National AHA Awards and are hoping to bring home a national award.
